Amazingly, it’s the beginning of yet another year of singing and concerts for the Mayo Male Voice Choir. Our choir will begin rehearsals on Thursday September 8th in the Regional Training Centre, Mayo County Council at 7.45 pm but from then on, every Thursday night at 7.45 pm in GMIT, Castlebar.
There are currently fifty men in the choir and last year was a very successful one with another major competition win in the Mayo International Choral Festival and our sold out concert in Breaffy House Hotel. The highlight for the upcoming year has to be our trip to Wales in 2017.
We would like to continue to develop as a choir and as such we are currently seeking new members. So, we are calling all men who enjoy singing to come along and join in. You will be guaranteed a genuine welcome. You don’t have to be a Pavorotti or a Caruso. The benefits of singing for mental well being are well documented and our choir are very sociable – really!
