Spring Concert 2018 GMIT Mayo Campus 20 April
Concert at Castlebar, October 13th, 2017
An ‘Amazing’ choir from the Netherlands to perform in Mayo!
Hailing from Holten, a village in the north east of the Netherlands, ‘Amazing Popkoor’ will visit Mayo in October upon the invitation of the Mayo International Choral Festival. Their trip will involve a tour of the West of Ireland culminating in a concert in Christchurch, Castlebar, together with the ‘Mayo Male Voice Choir’ and the ‘The Rolling Waves’ on Friday 13th October.
Formed in 1994, this mixed adult choir has 40 members and their repertoire consists of beautiful renditions of many of the all-time favourite pop-songs, in four-part a cappella arrangements. Directed by Marion Mulders the choir performs regularly at choral festivals and events in the Netherlands and in Europe including Finland and Germany.

The MMVC Annual Spring Concert 2017
Mayo Male Voice Choir held their annual Spring Concert at Ballintubber Abbey, Co Mayo on the evening of the 27th April.
The concert was ably compèred by Frank Forde and we played to a full house. We were supported by two superb artists, Ross Scanlon – a strong tenor, and Emma Nash – an amazing soprano of whom Frank Forde, our compère, said “We have heard an angel in the Abbey tonight”.

MMVC Enjoy Great Week as Spring Concert Fast Approaches!
The secret of success for any sports or social club, social gathering, family outing or suchlike has to be the chemistry between members; how do members get on with each other and enjoy each other’s company. Well, after the two gatherings over the last week, it is certain that the Mayo Male Voice Choir has such chemistry. Unsurprisingly, the members like to sing and don’t need much encouragement to begin a sing-song! The simple joy of singing together ensures that a good night out for the choir is exactly that – a good night out, or in the case of Louisburgh – a very good night out. This will be explained later!
