The Mayo Male Voice Choir delivers a ‘Salute to Spring’ at the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar with two special concerts on Wednesday and Thursday, April 18 and 19 at 8pm.
The ever popular Mayo Male Voice Choir offers a programme of choral music with something for everyone and a repertoire ranging from Verdi and Wagner to Lennon and McCartney. Mayo Male Voice Choir has been in existence for more than seven years and its 40 members are drawn from all over the county.
The choir has performed in venues throughout Mayo and further afield and for this concert will be presenting a varied programme of music, featuring many favourites ranging from light opera to popular musicals, under the accompaniment of musical direction of Deirdre Lee. Appearing in ‘Salute to Spring’ will be special guest performer tenor Seán Costello. Seán started his musical career in his home town of Ballinrobe and from operetta to grand opera, his talent has taken him all over Ireland, playing leading roles in many shows.
Seán is a four-time winner of Best Male Voice Award by the Association of Irish Musical Societies, and was a finalist in RTE’s ‘Search For A Star’. So come along and salute spring with an evening of mellifluous choral music, Mayo style. Booking is advised on 0949023733.
