Donna Malone

donna_malone

Donna Malone has been described as one of the most astonishing and mature Irish soprano voices of her generation. The Celtic Tenors were privileged to have had Donna appear with them as guest artist throughout their world tour from USA, Canada and Ireland, to the Netherlands, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. Her prodigious ability at such a young age is reminiscent of the young Charlotte Church. This bright young talent emerged from a very musical family, and received her valuable early training at Ballina’s St. Cecilia School of Song under the inspired direction of Lavinia Gilmartin.

Donna is at present pursuing advanced vocal studies with Mary Brennan at the DIT Conservatory of Music in Dublin, and from time to time still appears as guest artist with the tenors in between performing as a member of the highly successful Opera Singing Waiters from Ireland. Donna has been cantoring at church weddings all over Ireland from a very early age with her passion for singing clearly audible from her performance. Source

For the concert in “De Roskam’ in Gorssel (February 2008) I asked special permission to record some songs just for myself. Later I realised that I really like to share it. So I asked permission to put these recordings on YouTube. They gave it!
The Celtic Tenors are James Nelson, Matthew Gilsenan and Daryl Simpson. On piano is their Musical Director Colm Henry and on guitar is Robbie Overson.
