Paddy is in the front row (second from left), the oldest living past pupil of St. Gerald’s at the time, having bought the first ticket for the draw.It is with great regret that we record the passing of one of Castlebar’s true gentlemen and an esteemed member of our choir. Indeed though Paddy wasn’t able to participate in our rehearsals for the last few years, he still attended our concerts in full uniform, a singular act appreciated by all our choir members. That deed was sadly repaid, when a large contingent of our choir, in full uniform, formed a guard of honour at his removal recently from Coadys Funeral Home, Castlebar on Monday evening to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar. Requiem Mass was held on Tuesday morning at 11am. Burial afterwards was in the Castlebar Old Cemetery.
