Rory Musgrave

Guest Artist – MMVC Spring Concert 2018

Rory Musgrave, a baritone from Connemara, Ireland, is a graduate from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, with a Masters in Vocal Performance, and has gone on to work with all the major Irish opera companies. An OTC Opera Hub Emerging Artist with Opera Theatre Company (2014 – 2016), Rory was also awarded the PWC Emerging Artist Bursary and was awarded the Arnholm Bursary by Wexford Festival Opera.

2018 opera engagements include; Taddeo/L’Italiana in Algeri (Blackwater Valley Festival); Marullo/Rigoletto (Northern Ireland Opera); Eumaeus in The Return of Ulysses to Patria with Opera Collective Ireland.

Recent opera engagements include; Schaunard /La Boheme (Cork Operatic Society); Belcore/L’Elisir d’Amore (Lismore Opera Festival); Smirnoff/The Bear and Magnus/Herculanum (Wexford Festival Opera); Schaunard/La Boheme, Count Gil/Susanna’s Secret (Opera Theatre Company); Gabriel Conroy/James Joyce’s The Dead (Performance Corporation – World Premier); Junius/The Rape of Lucretia (Irish Youth Opera).

Rory made his National Concert Hall debut with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in 2015, as a guest soloist in their Lunchtime Concert Series. Rory is delighted to be making his international operatic debut singing the role of Off Stage Kelvin Solaris for Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
