Deirdre Lee is an honours music graduate of NUI Maynooth. She has been musical director of the Mayo Male Voice Choir since its formation in 2000 leading them to success in International Competitions. Deirdre is a secondary school music teacher at St. Joseph’s, Castlebar.
Her senior school choirs have appeared on RTE in the ‘All Island School Choir Competition’ several times and have won many awards.
She is currently Musical Director of annual school productions and also of award winning Claremorris Musical Society and Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society. Most recent productions include ‘ Hello Dolly’, ‘ The Wiz’ and ‘Big, The Musical’.
Deirdre is also on the Executive Committee of the Mayo International Choral Festival, now in its eighth year.
As well as directing the choir for our concert on the 26th April, Deirdre is accompanist to our guest soloists John Molloy and Emma Nash.
